We’ve Narrowed Down Our 3 Favorite Features of the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo… Sort Of
Posted by Seth Styles on
You don’t need a doctorate to look at the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo and recognize a quality e-rig. This upgrade from the Switch brings you improved performance at a more conveniently compact size. And it’s a self-contained sesh station… you don’t even need a carb cap! Another impressive offering from the mad scientists at Dr. Dabber, it’s loaded up with features, but today we’re going to take a closer look at a few of our absolute favorites. So, put on your rubber gloves and shower caps… we’re going into the operating room.
A Pioneering Design for E-Rigs
The design of the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo is brilliant in its simplicity. The water filtration chamber is situated atop the atomizer so that the draws go directly through the water in a straightforward, sensible way that keeps every hit feeling crystal clear and pure. But this innovative design also does away with the need for a carb cap which means you don’t have to invest in any e-rig-specific caps or tethers. Instead, Dr. Dabber have outfitted this portable wax rig with an airflow release button, which basically handles the responsibilities traditionally held by a carb cap in a novel way. How you utilize this feature will be determined by your personal style, but you can basically use it to control airflow in various ways or simply clear the chamber. There’s a minor learning curve to using the airflow release button instead of a carb cap, but it’s a useful enough feature to become the preference for many.
Real Temperature Control
The Dr. Dabber Boost Evo is also one of the most consistent e-rigs on the market which all comes down to its patent pending temperature control sensor. This involves a direct communication between the smart rig’s atomizer and temperature control technology. You may be wondering how this differs from your average e-rig. Don’t they all have temperature control? In most cases, an e-rig simply heats up and continues heating until it hits the desired temperature threshold. Then, it immediately cuts off and begins to cool. Basically, the preferred temperature is hit but it's not sustained. The Boost Evo changes all that, cutting out the temperature variances and resulting inconsistencies by locking onto the temperature settings. And you have 6 settings from which to choose, so that’s a pretty big deal for those of us who want to know what we’re getting when we fire up the ol’ e-rig.
The Look of the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo
Though this isn’t a single feature, we really need to take a moment to give the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo props for its aesthetic design. It’s more compact than its predecessor, the Dr. Dabber Switch, while also offering up a textured grip for increased security. Like a lot of its peers, this e-rig uses single-button control with information such as battery status communicated through a series of LED lights. But the Boost Evo takes a cue from the Puffco with its light display option which gives you 5 different settings. This may not be important to everyone, but there is an added emphasis on fashion with portable rig models. The Boost Evo isn’t a rig that you only pull out when you’re watching TV in a t-shirt and boxers. This is a rig that likes to be seen.
While these are some of our favorite features of the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo, this in no way begins to cover everything we love about this e-rig. We could easily go on about its impressive battery power, convenient auto shutoff, rapid heat up time, quartz atomizer and locking carrying case, but the more time we spend writing this blog, the less time we’re using our Boost Evo. (Editor: We can see you at your desk hitting the Boost Evo right now.) Oh well, we said this is an e-rig that likes to be seen!
